Report on the -MSA Day 2023-24

The Pre-Primary students presented what they have learnt through the year to their parents on Mind Space Activity Day on 31st January, 2024.

The event commenced with the recitation of the poem “Nature’s Harmony” by the LKG children, followed by a play “The Smartest Giant in Town” by the UKG children. They brought the characters to life with their expressive intonations.

A highlight of the event was the arrival of an alien on earth, and the children introduced various land and water forms, as well as the different flora, fauna, monuments, cultures, and cuisines across continents to their new friends. Pre-primary children helped the alien to understand the plant and animal kingdoms through models illustrating parts of plants, leaves, flowers, and frogs and explaining the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates.

The children displayed their sensorial and motor skills by conducting activities and demonstrating arithmetic calculations using Montessori materials.

Demonstrations using Montessori materials, such as Pink Towers, Red Rods, and Cylinder Blocks, were presented to the parents.

In phonics, children confidently blended and read words using digraphs and exercises like completing sentences and crossword puzzles. Concepts such as alternative sounds, magic “e,” vowel variations, and words ending in “y” were demonstrated.

Parents were impressed to see their children confidently reading the newspaper, a testament to their progress.

The students displayed warm-up and cool-down exercises, yoga, and a rendition of the action song “Skidamarink a dink a dink.”

The event concluded with parents joining in a block printing activity, which was a memorable takeaway.
