The Annual Intramural Sports Opening Ceremony held on 16th June 2023 was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and motivation.
Chakrika Elluru from Std 7A gave a warm welcome and shared an inspiring quote by Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, “To uncover your true potential, you must first find your limits and then have the courage to blow past them.” This quote encouraged the students to push their boundaries and work hard for excellence.
Anika Upadhyay from Std 8A emphasised the holistic development at The Brigade Schools through sports. She highlighted the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork, urging the students to develop persistence and determination.
The opening speech was delivered by Ms. Amudhan, the Curriculum Advisor for Mathematics. She inspired the students to compete against themselves first and to strive to do their best.
Ms. Amudhan declared the annual intramural sports for 2023-24 open, and the oath was administered to the students of Std 6 to 10 by Aarini Barthwal from Std 10. This oath symbolised the students’ commitment to fair play, sportsmanship, and giving their best effort in the competitions.
To promote a healthy competitive spirit, exhibition football and basketball matches were arranged. The teams were welcomed with loud applause, creating an exciting atmosphere. Live commentary was provided by Rudra Vinod from Std 8B and Dhanvi Vikranth from Std 8A, adding enthusiasm to the matches.
The matches showcased the talents of the students. The students cheered enthusiastically, creating an energetic atmosphere.
Zaara Mathew Y from Std 7B concluded the session with a vote of thanks. She ended with a quote by Cameron Trammell, track and field athlete, “Win if you can, lose if you must, but never quit!” Overall, the annual Intramural Sports Opening Ceremony was a memorable event that showcased a passion for sports, teamwork, and personal growth. It also helped the students to showcase their skills and learn the spirit of healthy competition.
