Sports Day 2024-25
(Grade 9 to 11)
The Brigade School at Whitefield celebrated Sports Day for classes 9 to 11 on August 28, 2024. The event began with a welcome speech by Dhanvi Vikranth of Grade 9, who quoted Liane Cardes: “Continuous effort—not strength or intelligence—is the key to unlocking our potential.”
The first event was the 100-metre sprint by the boys, closely followed by the same event for the girls. The races were competitive, and participants put in their best.
Students from grades 9 to 11 then conducted a routine combining yoga and dance. The students depicted balance and agility by forming varied shapes using different asanas.
Mr. Cheria, Administrator of Brigade Foundation addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of sports in developing teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition. His inspiring words motivated the students to strive for excellence.
The 4 x 100-meter relay had teams of four participants, who ran equal distances, passing the baton to each other at the given point. The athletic events concluded with the mixed relay, the boys’ and girls’ teams displaying great teamwork.
Games were organised for the parents bringing out their competitive spirit.
The students began the March Past, led by Ritansh Rajat Chauhan of Grade 11A and Dimona Disheta of Grade 9B. The school flag represents energy, optimism, and happiness, while the Seagull symbolises a soaring spirit and intellectual freedom.
Ritansh and Dimona have represented their alma mater in interschool and intramural sports, bringing laurels to the school.
The annual sports meet was officially declared closed by the Chief Guest with the distribution of prizes to the winners. The principal received the folded flag, marking the closure of the sports meet. Sachin Senthilvasan of Grade 11A delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to one and all, for providing a wonderful and inspiring platform for students to showcase their talents on the sports field.
