THE BRIGADE SCHOOL @ Whitefield
On November 10, 2023, The Brigade School @ Whitefield celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with activities that beautifully described and celebrated the state of Karnataka.
The students of grades 1, 2, and 3 began the programme with the school prayer; thought for the day written by Rashtriya Kavi Kuvempu, followed by the pledge. Eloquent Kannada speeches were delivered with utmost sincerity and pride, describing the history, origin, and division of districts of the Karnataka state. The patriotic spirit was felt through the song ‘Nanna Desha, Nanna Jana.’ The birth of the Hoysala Dynasty was brought to light through an interesting play by the students, which vividly described the magnificent dynasty. “Thipparalli Balu Doora” by T. P. Kailasam was another wonderful rendition laced with humour, highlighting the Thipparalli village with a social message. This was followed by a stunning fashion show depicting the rich culture and food encompassing the various districts of Karnataka.
An excellent dance performance to the foot-tapping number ‘Dharani mandala madhyadolage….’ enthralled the audience, who joyously clapped for the excellent performance.
Interesting and funny tongue twisters were put forth to the audience, who actively participated with engaging responses. Teachers and students enthusiastically participated in this fun activity. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
It was an assembly to remember for a long time, as the marvellous performances had made an impact on the students.
