Unparalleled Patriotism
The Brigade School @ Whitefield – Independence Day 2023-24

Seventy-six years have passed since our nation achieved its freedom. On August 15, 2023, India marked yet another milestone in its journey towards independence.

The festivities commenced with the hoisting of the national flag and the harmonious rendition of the National Anthem, paying homage to the great men and women whose selfless sacrifices and unparalleled contributions brought us freedom. We were reminded that the future of our country lies in our hands. The Principal, Ms Suresh, urged the students to think about the relevance of celebrating Independence Day. She spoke of the importance of participation and accepting responsibilities at the school level, which in turn will help to develop a growth mindset to contribute to the welfare of the nation, as the students of today are the future of the nation. She wanted the students to take a pledge – I will participate come what may.

The students of grades 9 and 10 presented a lyrical mix ‘Shubh Din Aayo’ that was supported by a dance medley by the students to evoke a sense of patriotism in our hearts.

Next, we were enthralled by a foot-tapping fusion number- Vande Mataram and Rang De Basanti by students of grades 4 to 9 that left us all asking for more!

This day concluded with a melodious Karaoke rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ by students of grades 5, 6, 9 and 10.

Patriotism blended with zeal and enthusiasm made this event a truly mesmerizing one. This celebration went a long way in generating a patriotic mood, promoting love for the nation and inspiring us to rise above all pettiness to embrace the richness of our culture and its values.
