National Mathematics Day 2024-25
December 22nd is National Mathematics Day, declared by the government of India in 2012. This day, celebrated yearly, marks the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian mathematician Mr Srinivasa Ramanujan. National Mathematics Day was celebrated at The Brigade School @ Mahadevapura on December 20th, 2024, as a tribute to the internationally renowned mathematician to be inspired by his accomplishments and significant contributions to the field of mathematics.
During the morning assembly, Veeksha and Vayujath of grade 5 introduced Ganit Divas with a PowerPoint presentation commemorating the life story of Sri Ramanujan. The play enacted by talented students was hilarious. The dancers crowned the programme with a beautiful dance performance, ‘Angles.’ A PowerPoint presentation on how to make a magic square enthralled the students. A quiz was conducted by Esha and Jayathi of grade 5. The students participated in the quiz enthusiastically. Winners were given a badge each as a token of appreciation. Shriya of grade 5 presented the vote of thanks.
The Principal, Ms. Suresh, encouraged and appreciated the students for executing the interesting programme. The curriculum advisor of Mathematics, Ms. Amudhan, appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them with her inspiring words.
This event entertained students but increased their interest in the subject and made them realise the importance of mathematics.
