Pre-Primary Cultural Day – The Brigade School @ Mahadevapura

Tiny stars, rich traditions—celebrating the vibrant culture of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana with joy and pride

Cultural Day is an annual celebration at The Brigade School, bringing together students, teachers, and parents to joyfully honour the rich diversity and vibrant traditions of cultures around the world. Each year, a theme is chosen to help children explore and appreciate a unique cultural identity. This year’s theme, “Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” was beautifully brought to life through music, dance, costumes, and art. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Saturday, 17th January 2026, creating an atmosphere filled with pride, colour, and festivity.

The venue was transformed into a visual delight, showcasing vibrant bommas, traditional dancers, and an impressive replica of the Charminar, perfectly reflecting the cultural essence of the two states.

The programme began on a serene note with the school song, “O Nanna Chetana Aguni Aniketana,” sung by students of Grades 2 and 3. This was followed by a welcome address by the Vice Principal, Ms Shekar, and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Principal and dignitaries, symbolising knowledge and prosperity. The Principal, Ms Suresh, presented the annual report, highlighting the many achievements of the academic year. A heartfelt vote of thanks concluded the formal segment.

The cultural performances began with an engaging introduction by the pre-primary comperes. The LKG students presented an energetic dance to “Pranamam,” conveying messages of harmony, nature, and interconnectedness. The Nursery children charmed the audience with their graceful performance to “Tuneega Tuneega,” spreading joy with their innocence and smiles.

A vibrant fashion show by LKG and UKG students transported the audience to the royal courts of ancient Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Through colourful costumes and confident strides, the children showcased traditional art forms, classical dances like Kuchipudi and Lambadi, and rural life.

The UKG students continued the celebrations with a lively performance of “Blockbuster Pongal,” followed by a comedy play titled “The Kingdom of Bondapalli.” The event concluded on a high note with an electrifying performance of the Oscar-winning “Naatu Naatu,” leaving the audience cheering with delight.

The success of the Cultural Day was a true reflection of the dedication and teamwork of the teachers, students, and staff. The celebration beautifully blended learning with entertainment, fostering cultural awareness and pride while creating joyful memories for all.
