‘Steps to Srides’

On September 16, 2023, the Mind Space Activity Day for class 8 took place at the MLR auditorium, centered around the theme ‘Steps to Strides – Spotlight India 2023’. The event opened with a stirring rendition of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic ‘Tryst with Destiny’ speech, which served as a poignant reminder of India’s hard-fought independence. The audience was then treated to a captivating musical performance depicting India’s journey since then.

The program began by spotlighting India’s sports achievements through an engaging presentation. Subsequently, the spotlight shifted to India’s accomplishments in space research, focusing particularly on the contributions of women scientists at ISRO. Students, dressed as these pioneering scientists, shared insights into various projects and the history of ISRO.

The event transitioned to India’s rich biodiversity and the success of Project Tiger. A tiger-themed anthem added a delightful touch, accompanied by students showcasing their artistic talents through tiger sketches. The focus then shifted to cutting-edge technology, symbolized by drones flying into the auditorium, showcasing India’s strides in this realm.

Educational advancements were highlighted next, beginning with the ‘Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan’ and extending to the emergence of foreign universities establishing campuses in India. This segment shed light on the remarkable progress made in the country since its independence.

The audience was then taken on a journey through India’s transportation sector, discussing newly commissioned projects and those in the pipeline. The narrative continued, depicting India’s transformation from outdated stereotypes to a thriving economy, responsible nuclear power, and the remarkable development in the pharmaceutical domain. The students solemnly pledged their commitment to India’s future with “Our Vision Mission 2047”.

The event culminated in a celebration of India’s cultural achievements, notably the Oscars won for “Elephant Whisperers” and “Nattu Nattu”. Students presented a vibrant performance, followed by active participation from parents in the dance trivia quiz, matching dance forms with their respective states. As a token of appreciation, parents were gifted with various artistic creations made by the students. The day ended on a high note, encapsulating India’s progress and potential in diverse fields.
