The ethos of The Brigade Schools, “Passion with Compassion,” was celebrated on October 29th, 2023, by organising a fundraising Run/Walkathon “SprintFest: Stride for Knowledge, Run for Wellness,” to support the education and health of underprivileged children. The students and staff of The Brigade School @ Whitefield actively contributed to the Run by engaging with local communities and members of society by promoting, educating, and creating awareness, which led to huge numbers of registrations for the event. The event witnessed more than 2000 participants from different age groups come together to support the noble cause.

The early morning air was filled with excitement at The Brigade Schools’ ground as the event kicked off with a Zumba session. The various race categories (10k, 5k, and 3k) included professional and amateur runners, senior citizens, parents, and children who enthusiastically participated with zest and zeal. Our youngest runners from The Brigade School @ Whitefield were Harvi and Aarav from Grade 1 in the 3k category.

There were first-aid stations en route to the finish line. The volunteers distributed water along the run route. Our responsible student volunteers were ready to assist the runners and were available throughout the event. Medals were awaiting the runners upon completion of the run. Harshal Kaur, a grade 8 student, and Ms. Rex, a staff member from The Brigade School @ Whitefield, won prizes in this event.

Tiredness vanished with a hot breakfast served to the participants by our diligent student volunteers. The satisfaction and pride of being a contributor to the welfare of underprivileged children were seen on the faces of everyone who participated, contributed, and organised this magnificent run.
