The Brigade School @ J P Nagar – Annual Sports Day – Std 4 to 8
The Brigade School @ J P Nagar conducted their Annual Sports Day for Stds 4 to 8 on Saturday, 29th October 2022. It was a vibrant display of colour, enthusiasm and sportsmanship, keeping in mind the theme for the year ‘Spain’.The event was flagged off with the march past by the students of the four houses – Chalukya, Ganga, Hoysala and Vijayanagara. The contingents saluted smartly as they marched past the dais. The Principal addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of sports and the true spirit of sportsmanship. Shortly after this, the 100-metre race was held followed by the 600-metre race for both boys and girls.
To mark the celebration of the 8th International Day of Yoga, celebrated even in Spain this year, the students of classes 6 to 8 put up a fabulous display of different yoga formations. Different kinds of asanas were demonstrated skillfully by students. It was a brilliant display of coordination and synchronisation of the mind and body.
The Brigade School has always encouraged girls and boys to compete with each other on the same platform. The mixed relay was held in two categories for Stds 4 and 5 and the other for Std 6 to 8. The graceful passing of the baton was a pleasure to watch.
The fun part of the event was the Bull Game conducted for the parents. Parents had to dodge the charging bulls of The Brigade School and get to the finishing line. It was enjoyed equally by the participants and the spectators. Two parents emerged winners and were awarded a memento for their participation.
The students were tired but exhilarated after a successful sports day! The programme concluded with the march past and the prize distribution.
