Grade 4– TBS– Composite Science Report on Making Early Stone Tools
Students of Grade 4 explored how early humans created tools using natural materials, long before the discovery of metals. Through this hands-on activity, they gained an understanding of how early humans relied on stones, sticks, leather, and other available resources to meet their daily needs and survive. The objective was to help students experience how primitive tools were made and appreciate the creativity and resilience of early human life.
During the session, some students used real stones, sticks, and rope to recreate early tools, while others used clay or rolled newspaper to represent stones. This blend of real and model-making allowed for creativity and deeper engagement. The activity was both fun and educational, leaving students with a clearer idea of how essential these simple tools were in the evolution of human life.
