National Mathematics Day – The Brigade Schools

The Brigade School celebrated National Mathematics Day with a vibrant and intellectually stimulating assembly that beautifully blended creativity with logical thinking. True to the spirit of the quote, “Pure Mathematics is in its way, the poetry of logical ideas,” students highlighted the importance of the day and the theme for the year 2025 – Mathematics, Art and Creativity.

The programme opened with an entertaining courtroom skit titled “Mathematics vs Students” by the students of Grade 5. In this witty performance, Mathematics such as Aryabhata, Euclid, Shakuntala Devi, Srinivasa Ramanujam, and scientist Albert Einstein stood on trial, humorously accused of being boring and confusing. They encouraged students to be curious and to never stop questioning. Finally, students were convinced and accepted that Math is an easy and fun subject to learn.

This was followed by the Math Ninja contest winners shared their experiences and conducted a quiz for the audience.

Then the Grade 9 students’ conducted in a talk show called Math Café, where students actively participated as speakers, hosts, and audience. Lines and Angles topics related to Mathematics were discussed, making abstract concepts clear, relatable, and enjoyable.

The grand finale was the Rubik’s Cube challenge. Students from Grades 4 and 5 participated in the challenge, solving the cube live and showcasing remarkable speed, focus, and problem- solving skills.

The celebration concluded on a high note with the distribution of certificates to the Rubik’s Cube winners and Math Ninja winners.
