Learning Through Shapes: Creating Imaginary Animals
At The Brigade School, creative learning brings concepts to life through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, imagination, and joy. As part of this approach, the Grade 1 students of TBSW explored the fascinating world of plane shapes by creating their very own imaginary animals!
Using simple shapes such as circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles, the young learners transformed basic geometric figures into colourful and imaginative creatures. With great enthusiasm and creativity, the students experimented with different shapes, sizes, and combinations to bring their unique animal designs to life.
This engaging activity helped students understand that mathematics can be both creative and fun, while encouraging them to think beyond the usual and let their imaginations soar.
Learning Outcome: Students applied their understanding of plane shapes and creatively used them to design and construct their own imaginary animals.
