Name of Activity: Weaving activity

Description of Activity:

A weaving activity was conducted in the Grade 3 classroom to introduce students to the basic concept of weaving and to develop their fine motor skills. The teacher provided simple wooden frames, and each student brought colourful satin ribbon strips to use for the exercise.

The activity began with a short demonstration by the teacher, showing how to pass the ribbons alternately over and under the frame threads. Students then enthusiastically engaged in the task, carefully weaving their chosen ribbons to create vibrant patterns.

The classroom atmosphere was lively and creative, with children experimenting with different colour combinations. The finished pieces displayed a variety of attractive designs, reflecting the imagination and effort of the students.

This hands-on activity not only reinforced the lesson on weaving but also encouraged patience, concentration, and appreciation for craftwork. They learnt the process of making a fabric from the fibre.
