Anaerobic Respiration

Anaerobic respiration is the respiration that occurs in the absence of oxygen to produce energy.

An experiment demonstrated that yeast releases carbon dioxide during anaerobic respiration/fermentation.

The balloon gets inflated due to the gas released by yeast during anaerobic respiration/fermentation. The gas released is carbon dioxide, as it turns freshly prepared lime water milky.
