Motion and Measurements of Distances- Parallax error

In the topic of Motion and Measurements, students of class 6 learnt about parallax error. In an activity, the students were asked to take a reading of the volume of a liquid in a measuring cylinder. The activity was to help children learn about measuring the volume of liquid using a measuring cylinder (graduated cylinder).

Unlike metre rulers, reading graduated cylinders can be tricky. Students got a reading by following precautions while reading the value on a graduated cylinder. They were able to avoid an error that may occur due to the incorrect positioning of the eye, which is called parallax error.
