Cultural Day – The Brigade School @ JP Nagar

The Dia de la Cultura, at The Brigade School at J P Nagar, was a charming show of talent and zeal by the students of Std 6 to 8. Mrs Shankar, the founder of the Brigade Schools, was the chief guest. Ms Menon, Head of Brigade Foundation, presented the Annual Report.

The vote of thanks was given by Ms George who thanked everyone for their contributions to making the event a grand success.

The Cultural day based on the theme “Spain,” featured a variety of programmes staged by the students based on Spanish culture. The junior school band performed a medley of songs in Spanish, La Roja baila, the official theme song for the Euro Cup 2016 and “La Copa de la Vida” of “The Cup of Life”, the official song of the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

The Matador and the Bull, an interesting story, was enacted with a difference – a bit of pantomime and storytelling.

The students gave a highly engaging and vibrant rendition of the song ‘Splendour of Spain’, and had everyone tapping their feet. The play, ‘The Barber and the Basque Lady’, captivated the audience by capturing the hilarious and ridiculous antics of the famous fictional character Don Quixote and his faithful companion Sancho Panza. The spectacular rendition of ‘La Bamba’ left the crowd mesmerised. A combination of dances that comprised Bailando, Flamenco, and Kathak, as well as Freestyle and Hip hop, was the main highlight of the evening. This performance surpassed the expectations of the audience and received huge applause.

A ‘behind the scenes’ video, captured beautifully, was a pleasure to watch. The Cultural Day was a success, with smiling parents congratulating the participants.
