The Brigade School @ J P Nagar Cultural Day – Std 4 & 5

The Cultural Day for Std 4 and 5 got off to a spectacular start on the 13th of January 2023. The theme for this year was Spain and the students showcased an array of programmes giving a glimpse into the glorious Espana through its dance, drama and theatre.

The events began with the Lighting of the Lamp by Mrs Geetha Menon (Head of the Brigade Foundation) and other dignitaries.
The musical ‘Introduction to Spain’ captivated the audience with its blends of guitar, castanets, tambourines and the flute presenting how the Spanish community lived happily through its motivational lyrics.

The next event was the musical number “ Vivir Mi Vida’ which describes the need to live life happily and enthusiastically. The students beautifully sang this song, and their performance truly captured their involvement with the music. The comical Spanish novel- Don Quixote, with the students enacting the scenes of ‘The Barber and The Basque Lady’, left the audience chuckling.

Moving from the quirkiness of Don Quixote, the scintillating tune of La Bamba left the audience humming along with the singers.

The dancers put up a fantastic display of intricate hand and body movements, along with a complex display of foot movements, to showcase the traditional dance forms from Spain – Flamenco and Paso doble.
