Little Explorers at Work LKG Highlights – February 2026

A month of excitement and discovery for our LKG students. That’s what February was all about. A month where the students learnt more about art, numbers, science through engaging hands-on activities.

In Mathematics the students played Treasure Hunt. They had to find the numbers 1-5 using clues that were hidden throughout the classroom. Once they found the numbers, the students had to loudly announce the same, making it a proud moment for them. This fun and engaging activity strengthened their number recognition while encouraging teamwork.

In Composite Science the students learned that by combining two different elements you can make a third completely new one. The activity was called the Banana Cake Activity. From stirring the batter to tasting the final cake, the activity helped them understand simple baking science while improving fine motor skills.

After this, they also learnt more about birds and turtles through two more activities namely, the Bird Mobile Hanging Activity and the Turtle Leafcup Activity respectively. These activities taught the students how to identify the different parts of birds and turtles and recognise them better.

In Exercises of Practical Life (EPL), playdough and rolling pins were used to teach the students hand-eye coordination, fine motor control skills, and understanding how to apply the right amount of pressure while working with dough.

The Art (APA) session encouraged imagination through Freehand Drawing of Animals. Children expressed their creativity by drawing animals using different patterns and techniques.

To end the day on a fun note, the students played Oranges and Lemons during Organised Games class. This activity helped them improve their listening skills while promoting teamwork and social interaction.
