The Joy of Mundane Tasks – Life Skills Grade 2

Grade 2 students participated in an activity where they learnt how to wash and dry clothes. The activity induced a feeling of independence in them and improved their fine and gross motor skills.

Through this activity, the children got an opportunity to understand and interpret their daily responsibilities and develop their social skills.

Hanging laundry is a pretend play/practical life activity and has a significant positive impact on children’s ability to pretend, engage in their environment, and make sense of it.

It was a fun-filled, mentally and physically stimulating activity. Students soaked the cloth, applied soap, scrubbed it, washed and rinsed it, and finally hung it to dry with the help of pegs. This is a great way for them to unwind from their busy schedule.
