Learning Through Play, Colours and Care – January 2026
(Nursery)
The month of January was filled with a lot of fun learning experiences for the Nursery students. The experiences were mostly focused on the students’ creativity, sensory exploration, and social awareness.
Activities were carefully planned for the nursery class students which encouraged them to explore their surroundings, express themselves, and learn some essential life-skills.
“Thank You” cards were also created by the students for the school staff that helps them during their day-to-day activities. The aim of these cards was to express their gratitude towards them. This was done to introduce the children to the concept of Community Helpers as a part of Value Education.
For their English class, the students learned all about the letter ‘B’ through beautiful Butterfly Cut-outs. The were encouraged to use their fingertips to decorate the butterflies, making it also a very sensory-rich activity.
Their Montessori class was all about learning about different lengths. The students took part in the Red Rods activity where they arranged rods from shortest to longest, which in turn helped them have a hands-on experience. This strengthened their understanding, sequencing skills, and concentration. In Composite Science, the students learnt and revised the parts of a horse through interactive and engaging activities and puzzles.
Physical development was also a part of the activities for the month. Through games like “Catch the Dragon’s Tail,” the students built coordination, and teamwork, all while having fun.
Finally, the month of January concluded with the celebration of Sankranti. The students learnt about the harvest festival and coloured kites. This added a festive touch to their learning journey.
