A special assembly was conducted at The Brigade School @ J P Nagar for World Environment Day, observed every year on the 5th of June.

The human mind knows no boundaries. But our planet does. There is only one Earth and protecting it is a global challenge and responsibility. This year, World Environment Day 2022, was observed by highlighting the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature. This can be accomplished only through transformative changes in our policies and choices towards a cleaner and greener lifestyle.

The show, hosted by Vishnu Iyer (12B), Ranbir Singh (12B), and Amanda James (12B), was short but effective. They took us through the theme of this year’s Environment Day and explained what we could do to make a change for the better.

The senior choir expressed the spirit of the theme beautifully with two songs, ‘We are Walking on Our Planet’ and ‘Love Song To The Earth’.

Next was the recitation of two poems. The first poem, recited by Vivian Saurya R (12B), spoke of how ungrateful and dispassionate we are towards Mother Earth despite how she nurtures us. The second poem, recited by Pehal Kothari (12B), depicted the ardent plea of the Earth to stop the destruction. The words of the poets came to life with dance performances by Grade 10.

This was the first special assembly conducted this year for which the entire school gathered at the quadrangle. After two years of online assemblies and staying away from school or gatherings, this assembly felt very special.
