Republic Day – January 26, 2026

The staff and students of The Brigade School, Malleswaram celebrated the 77th Republic Day on 26 January 2026 with great patriotic spirit on the school premises. The programme began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Mrs. Menon, Head – Brigade Foundation, in the presence of members of KNIB and the Brigade Foundation. This was followed by a vibrant cultural celebration aligned with the Grade 8 Mind Space Activity, where students highlighted the significance of Republic Day and the values enshrined in the Constitution.

The cultural segment opened with student presentations on the importance of democracy, unity, and responsible citizenship. Students then rendered a patriotic song, with lyrics written by Mr. B.N. Ramesh, the school coordinator, and composed by the music teachers of the school. The song beautifully celebrated the spirit of national pride and the tricolour as a symbol of hope and progress. A soulful performance of Janagana Geet, with lyrics composed by Mr. Ramesh Kashyap, further enriched the programme and inspired the audience.

Students spoke confidently on key national initiatives such as “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” which focuses on saving and educating the girl child, and the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative, which supports women through skill development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and improved livelihoods. The purpose of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) was also explained, emphasizing its role in protecting the environment, forests, and natural resources. Students introduced the audience to the concept of NOTA (None of the Above), encouraging informed and responsible voting.

An interactive quiz on the Constitution added excitement and participation among the audience. The song Saath Chale Hum captured the pride of being Indian and portrayed the journey of the motherland from struggle to freedom and strength. A major highlight was the dance drama Naari Shakti, scripted by Mr. Ramesh Kashyap, which showcased the power of women and celebrated unsung heroes such as Captain Lakshmi Sehgal, Savitribai Phule, and Aruna Asaf Ali. The celebration concluded as a meaningful tribute to patriotism, pride, and India’s progress towards a self-reliant future
