TOPIC: Steps to Strides continues – SPOTLIGHT INDIA -2023
This academic year, students showcased the journey of Independent India, continuing the initiative that began last year as ‘Steps to Strides’ and culminating this year as ‘Spotlight India-2023’. The event took place on 15th September 2023 at the MLR Convention Centre.
The achievements of India in 2023 were creatively portrayed through various mediums such as role-plays, quizzes, group songs, dances, and depictions of regions like Rajasthan and Ladakh. The programme commenced with the melodious rendition of ‘Incredible India’, celebrating the nation’s rich cultural heritage. This was followed by impressive presentations on remarkable projects like the Steel Slag Road in Gujarat, Bundelkhand Expressway, and Kochi Water Metro.
Highlighting India’s progress in science and technology, students proudly showcased milestones such as the successful launch of Chandrayan-3, the implementation of Drone Technology in agriculture, and the observance of the ‘International Year of Millets-2023’. The audience was also enlightened about new concepts like the Goldilocks Economy and Artemis Accord, as well as the benefits of social welfare programs like Jal Jeevan.
The event shed light on significant achievements in sports, including the Under-19 Women’s Cricket triumph, Neeraj Chopra’s victory in the World Athletics Championship 2023, and Praggyananda’s success in the Chess World Cup 2023. International accolades, such as winning Oscars for the Natu Natu song and the documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, were proudly presented, showcasing India’s global recognition.
The grand finale of the evening was an electrifying dance performance that enthralled the audience and even involved enthusiastic participation from parents. The event concluded with all students pledging their commitment to supporting India’s vision, promoting harmony, and contributing towards making India a progressive nation.
The program came to a close with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone involved for their efforts in making the event a resounding success.
