The last day of the Teachers’ Orientation Week ended on a happy note. Dr. Sashidhar, CEO, of Brigade Foundation delivered his address and enlightened the staff on the different activities that the Foundation pursues in the areas of health, education and community development. The grand finale was a spectacular event worth waiting for! The finale had performances from the dance and the music departments.
The colourful Rajasthani dances by the dance department showcased Rajasthan’s diverse dance forms in a mesmerising display of colour and styles. The folk style, Ghoomar and Kathputli dance forms were a cultural delight. The performance culminated in a fusion of folk styles, including Hip Hop, seamlessly blending into Rajasthan’s cultural tapestry. Dancers transitioned between styles, showcasing the richness and diversity of the dance traditions with vibrant costumes.
The medley of Western and Rajasthani folk music was an experience which will be remembered in times to come! The popular folk song Padharo Mhare Desh, meaning ‘Welcome to our land’ captured the essence of this year’s theme, Rajasthan. The band showcased the Sufi genre through the popular number, Khwaja Mere Khwaja. The musical extravaganza came to an end with the song Maati Baandhe Painjanee, which is a tribute to Rajasthan. This song is the anthem of Rajasthan!
It was a time for laughter, applause, and appreciation for the talents of our teachers from the Art and Performing Art departments. The week-long orientation was a platform for sharing best practices and making new friends. It equipped the teachers with the knowledge and tools to conduct interesting classes. As always, they were ready to make a positive difference in the lives of their students.
