Veer Bal Diwas

On 9th January 2022, the day of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the government announced that 26th December would be observed as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, to mark the martyrdom of the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh – Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.

As mandated by the CBSE to commemorate the first Veer Bal Diwas on 26th December 2022, The Brigade School @ J P Nagar conducted a special assembly. This event was conducted by the students of Std 5 in order to:

1. Create awareness about the sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh ji, younger sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth Guru of Sikhs.
2. Enable students to acquire the qualities of sacrifice, courage, steadfastness, confidence, mindfulness, and others as exhibited by the Sahibzadas

The students understood and were inspired by the brave acts of the two young boys who sacrificed their lives to preserve and uphold their identities.

The students of Std 1 to Std 5 expressed their gratitude to these young martyrs through a display of their hand-made ‘thank you’ cards. Children also voiced their ardent desire to serve their country through notes of promises made to these young patriots.
