The most awaited event, SprintFest: Stride for Knowledge, Run for Wellness, took place on the 29th of October 2023, at our Malleswaram campus. The day began bright and early, with an excited buzz in the air. The event began with a Zumba session, a warm-up for the runners to get their energy and enthusiasm roaring for the Run. The atmosphere was electrifying, and all participants waited with bated breath to begin the Run.
Our founder, Ms. Shankar, and Head of Brigade Foundation, Ms. Menon, flagged off the race. The race was conducted in groups, with a timed 10K, a 5K Run, and a friendly 3K walk. These events included professional athletes, both young and old, as well as first-time runners. The spirit of the race was to run, have fun, and voice our solidarity towards the Foundation’s aim of raising funds to make health and education facilities accessible to underprivileged children.
Ms. Rashmita, a teacher at The Brigade School @ J.P. Nagar, bagged second place in the 10K Run (14-30 years category), while Ms. Hart and Ms. Sudheer’s commitment to completing the 10K race served as an inspiration to all. Our students and alumni were also a part of this event. Rachit Bharaktiya (8D) and Stavan Ashok (4D) came in second in the 5K Run (12-14 years and 10-12 years category, respectively). All who finished the Run were awarded a medal and served a sumptuous hot breakfast. All volunteers worked relentlessly to make this event safe and successful.
It was not just the day of the run that made the event a success. Work started much earlier. We visited various companies, public parks, malls, and schools to spread the word about the Run and encourage them to register. Students created content and published it on social media to promote the event. The enthusiasm and commitment of the students and staff towards making this event a grand success was greatly inspirational for all.
