The Pet Day
The Brigade School @ Malleswaram
“An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language- Martin Buber.” With a mission to empower four- to five-year-olds to love animals and empathise with them, The Brigade School @ Malleswaram organised ‘The Pet Day’ for the students of LKG on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Various pets such as rabbits, hamsters, turtles, guinea pigs, ducks, and chicks were displayed. Silky Hen, Java Finches, African love birds, Helicopter love birds, and cockatiels were also present for the students to enjoy. To add to this excitement, students also saw a goat, a Persian Cat, a Sun Cornea, a Fan-tail pigeon, a fish, a crab, lobsters, and a Shih-Tzu.
Shih-Tzu Puppy was the star of the show! Shih-Tzu was excited and let children touch her without frightening or barking at them.
Students were very thrilled to see the pet animals. They were eager to touch and pet them. Some of the children were inquisitive to know what different pet animals ate.
The Pet Day added another dimension to the ethos of the school, “Passion with Compassion.’
