The yuletide spirit of the festive Christmas season was ushered in by the students of The Brigade Schools on the virtual platform with revelry, music and dance. The precursor for the festive mood was the Welcome Speech by Arya Arun, a student of Std 5 at The Brigade School, Malleswaram.

The Principals of the schools delivered a meaningful message of living good and worthy lives by sharing and demonstrating compassion, going beyond religious boundaries, which forms the foundation stone of humanity. They wished students happiness, good health, and contentment in the forthcoming year.

The vibrant Christmas programme began with the song medley of Christmas songs; ‘When Santa got stuck in the Chimney,’ ‘Feliz Navidad’, ‘Frosty the Snowman’, ‘Rocking around the Christmas Tree.’ The fluid dance, ‘Upon the House Top’ initiated the Christmas buzz. The soothing song, ‘Joy to the World’ gave an insight into the birth of baby Jesus. The song, ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ had the staff and students swaying and humming with joy. The skit, ‘Reason for the Season’, emphasised each of the symbolic bounties that Christmas has to offer- the Christmas tree, the angel, the bell, the gifts, the card, the candle, the star and the stockings. The Line dance, beautifully synchronized to the song of Feliz Navidad was a fitting finale to the charismatic Christmas programme. Natasha Chokhawala, a student of Std 6 at The Brigade School, J.P. Nagar expressed her gratitude for the effort put in by the staff and students in making the Christmas programme a joyful one.

The display of artworks based on gratitude by the students of the three Brigade Schools manifested the true meaning of caring and compassion. The celebration of Christmas has endorsed the words of Edna Ferber,

“Christmas isn’t a season, it’s a feeling.”
