Swimming Gala 2024-25

Swimming builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. It helps one maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Swimming is a regular sport in the co-scholastic curriculum at The Brigade Schools. The Brigade Schools intra-schools Swimming Gala –a mega annual swimming competition, was held on August 14, 2024, at the Brigade School @ Malleswaram. Students from Grades 1-12 participated in 38 categories of various events.

The gala began with the welcome speech, The contingents of all three Brigade Schools participated in the March Past. The inaugural display started with the aqua yoga, a magnificent curtain-raiser event in the Swimming Gala 2024-25. Aqua yoga is a relatively new form that requires performing asanas in water. Students of Grades 6-10 studying at The Brigade School, Malleswaram, staged a series of asanas (body postures), mudras (hand gestures), and pranayama (breathing techniques).

Ms. Menon –Head Brigade Foundation declared the swimming meet open. Ameya Kabre of Grade 9 administered the ceremonious oath to all the participants.

The salient events of the swimming gala were: 25 metres Freestyle, Kickboard, 25 metres Butterfly stroke, Width Freestyle, 25 metres Backstroke, 25 metres Breaststroke and Relay 4*25 metres. Mr. Cheria –Administrator of The Brigade Schools, declared the event closed.

The school flags were lowered, and Mr Joseph, Principal of The Brigade School@ Malleswaram, handed over the flag to Mrs Suresh, Principal –The Brigade School@ Mahadevapura.

The Swimming Gala ended with a formal vote of thanks. The staff and students sang the National Anthem in unison.
