TBSG Standard 1-4 Mind Space Activity Day Report-2025
The MSA Day for Standard 1 to 3 was successfully held on February 20, 2025, providing young learners with a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their academic progress to their parents. The event was filled with engaging activities and interactive demonstrations.
English Showcase:
Our young learners enthusiastically showcased their grasp of fundamental English concepts through hands-on activities like pick and place, verb charades, Dynamic Duo-Pairing words to form meaningful word combinations and arranging words into meaningful sentences.
The second graders took their language skills to the next level with engaging activities including article & noun matching, Homophones & Anagrams, Grammar Snake & Ladder – A fun-filled board game to identify words as nouns, verbs or adjectives and Tongue Twisters.
Our third graders impressed their parents with their deeper understanding of grammar and wordplay through crossword challenges, verb explorations and conjunctions in action, adverbs & adjectives.
Students of Grade 4 put up a wonderful stage show of learning similes with the Simile song and dance, both performed by the students. The children did a role-play activity of idioms, which was filled with wit and humour while bringing forth the actual meaning of the idiom. The parents were encouraged to play games that matched idioms and proverbs to their respective meanings and to guess a simile by looking at the picture clues.
Mathematics Showcase:
The first graders enthusiastically displayed their learning through Montessori materials that helped them grasp fundamental mathematical concepts.

. Addition Strip Board – to learn the addition of two numbers visually
. Solids on an Inclined Plane – demonstrating that some solids can roll, while others can roll and slide
. Subtraction Strip Board – exploring subtraction concepts through hands-on activities.
The second graders applied their mathematical understanding to real-life situations and interactive activities by making lemonade, thereby showcasing measurement in daily life, Montessori Golden Bead Material to demonstrate the concept of division concretely, reading time to the nearest minute with confidence and engaging the parents in a fun-filled math-based activity, The Scary Square Game.
The third graders impressed their parents with their understanding of advanced concepts like Tangrams, Fraction Materials, Stamp Games for Multiplication and 3D Lattice Multiplication (Role Play) – by demonstrating how to multiply three-digit with two-digit numbers.
The fourth graders enacted a short skit to introduce the number name “Googol”. They also explained interesting facts about the year 2025 and also had a debate between the Math digits and the English alphabet.
Composite Science Showcase :
The first graders confidently showcased a map of India, explaining why it is a peninsular country and naming states in all four directions along with their capitals. They later had an interactive state-capital quiz.
The second graders confidently spoke about Australia’s states and territories, Indigenous Australians, demonstrated sheep shearing using a creative model, explained the significance of the Great Barrier Reef and discussed Australia’s major exports, sparking curiosity among the parents.
The third graders shared fascinating information about African countries, bringing geography to life with fun and engaging facts.
Fourth graders spoke about the three civilizations -The Mesopotamian, Egyptian and Indus Valley Civilizations. A model of the Ziggurat, models of the pyramids, a demonstration of hieroglyphics writing, a miniature model of ‘The Great Bath’ from Mohenjo-Daro, and a hieroglyphics and cuneiform writing station were the highlights of the session.
In the Science segment, Grade 1 students explained the different vertebrate classes with examples. They identified the parts of a fish and described their functions. The students also had a fun sorting activity.
Grade 2 students categorized different types of stems and explained their functions. With the help of attractive props, they highlighted the different parts of a stem, making the topic engaging and easy to grasp.
The third-grade students introduced and explained the structure of an atom and its different parts using a creative model.
Grade 4 students showcased the theme of the cardiovascular system using different activities. The structure of the heart and the flow of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood were demonstrated by way of a flash dance.
Kannada Showcase:
Our youngest learners engaged in exciting activities that helped them build a strong foundation in Kannada. This included melodious rhymes and activities like identifying and naming everyday objects and community helpers in Kannada.
The second graders demonstrated their growing language skills through interactive and fun-filled activities like poem recitation, word building, and rearranging the letters.
The third graders showcased their deep understanding of Kannada through creative tasks like observing a series of pictures and narrating a story in Kannada, identifying and practising ottakshara (joined letters) using a clock-themed game, solving language-based puzzles to enhance vocabulary and comprehension.
The fourth graders engaged the parents by asking them to guess a Kannada proverb by looking at the clues provided in a picture and a game to add the right punctuation and riddles to solve with object clues.
Hindi Showcase:
The event began with a captivating stage performance by Grade 3 students on the iconic song “Ek Chidiya, Anek Chidiyan.” Through this beautiful rendition, children effectively conveyed the concept of vachan (singular and plural). The youngest learners showcased their budding Hindi skills with enthusiasm by identifying parts of the body and confidently naming them in Hindi, reciting a traffic light poem and reinforcing road safety rules. Additionally, students also presented real fruits and vegetables and explained their names and importance in daily life.
The second graders identified Hindi letters and challenged parents to form four-letter words starting with those letters. Children identified pictures in Hindi, enhancing their vocabulary and comprehension skills. They beautifully recited the poem “Teen Rang Ka Pyara Jhanda,” instilling a sense of patriotism among the audience.
