“Sports do not build character. They reveal it.”

Having seconded the words of Heywood Broun, The Brigade School, Malleswaram witnessed a proud moment of the Sports opening on the football field at school. It was the formal inauguration of the sporting events for the academic year 2022-23. The Sports Meet was declared open by Mrs. Benegal, the Principal of the school.

Yohan Jain of Std 10 B took the oath while holding aloft the school flag. Students took an oath to uphold the values of the school, in the true spirit of sportsmanship. “Football is like life. It requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and respect for authority.”

Having endorsed the above statement by Vince Lombardi, the inaugural football match was played by the students of Std 8, 9, and 10. Spain being the theme of the cultural day this academic year, the teams were named: Team Barcelona versus Team Real Madrid.

The match was an exciting one and a great finale to the day.
